Monday evening, March 3, marked a milestone in television history when the “yellow carpet” was rolled out at one of the hangars at the Santa Monica airport. Lined up in one limo after another, the cast of The Simpsons walked the walk” amidst paparazzi and television crews for this exciting celebration of the longest-running primetime series in history.

This evening was for the “10-year-old” in all of us. The hangar was totally revamped as a carnival in mid-town Springfield, U.S.A. Games, booths, photo opportunities, music, food, treats, and a redemption center were all there for the animators, writers, actors, production crew, celebrity guests and all their families to pick out whatever prizes they “won” during the evening.

FOX Broadcasting Company has ordered two additional seasons of The Simpsons, it was announced by Gail Berman, President of Entertainment, FOX Broadcasting Company. This will take the series through 16 seasons in 2004-2005. With 18 Emmys, a Peabody and numerous other accolades, including the recent Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series Musical or Comedy, it looks like The Simpsons might actually be a “hit”!

Be on the lookout for episodes 301, 302, 303, 304, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera…Did someone say, “Another 300?” Go for it, man!
