Aurora Awards – 20. September, 2004

aurora-awardCartwright Entertainment, Inc. is proud to announce the winning of two production awards. The Aurora Awards, that recognize Television, Film and multimedia production in a variety of specialized categories, has given our animated series The Kellys and our documentary short, Day in the Life of a Voice Actor, Gold Awards.

We are proud of this achievement and feel that “she” will look very elegant beside the Emmy! Kudos go out to Nancy for her wonderful work in both productions and to Jared Bentley of Cartwright Entertainment for his extraordinary work in direction and editing. And to all those who contributed as actors, writers, animators, engineers and the myriad of others who helped to make these productions such a great success.

Scotland Sell Outs! – 20. September, 2004

The premiere run of Nancy’s one-woman-show, My Life as a 10-Year-Old Boy, played throughout the month of August to capacity audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Assembly Rooms hosted the show in their premium venue, The Music Hall, which seats over 600 and the house was nearly full ever night following an extraordinary whirlwind of positive press.

Hundreds of fans mobbed Nancy in the street requesting autographs and she did her best to oblige by giving many special cards directing them to visit this very site to get a free autographed 8×10 of their choice. Don’t hesitate, Nancy would love to hear from you!

Scotland and the people of Edinburgh really embraced Nancy and she was treated with great love and respect. ”I love Scotland and the people there.  It’s just a wonderfully beautiful place and the art, theatre and music that take over the city for the Fringe Festival is not to be missed.”

Nancy sends a big “Cheers, mate!” to all that made this extraordinary experience possible and hopes to return soon.

The Balance – 9. August, 2004

Being a Working mom is all about balance. There is no balance, balance is a fantasy, but it’s still all about balance.  My experience with being a Mom is that both sides get cheated.  Jack and Lucy always want more and they deserve it! Meanwhile there is an eight hundred pound gorilla called “career” tapping my shoulder for attention. On good days the best laid plans work and I get to spend my delicious weekday mornings and evenings with my kids doing what most moms do: cooking, homework and listening. And this is the frosting around the cake of a day in which I get to record, schmooze, hobnob with attorneys and otherwise play with my cell phone. (more…)

Nancy will be performing her new one-woman show, My Life as a 10-Year-Old Boy, at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, Scotland. This whimsical look at life as the “anonymous” voice of Bart Simpson, is a staged rendition of her best-selling autobiography of the same name. The play puts into a theatrical context the often hilarious journey Nancy has been on for the past 17 years. She will explore new facets of her life as well, and invite the audience into her world as never before.
