A Brief Journey to the Emerald Isle – 31. October, 2006

Ireland-1Over a year ago, the University College of Dublin Law Society invited Nancy over to Ireland to participate in their comedy debate and have a little chat with the Society students.

While she couldn’t attend at that time, they kept at it and a year later had another university, National University of Ireland at Galway, Literary and Debating Society, join them in bringing Nancy over for a little bi-coastal trip to the island.

Nancy and her Exec Asst. Janelle made the journey over “the pond” for a fun-filled, if brief, excursion with some wonderful students.

Both the UCD Law Society and the NUIG Lit & Deb Society were incredibly gracious hosts, showing their guests around the sites, taking in some authentic Irish music, the train to the Irish National Stud in Kildare and even making the ferry trip out to the island of Inisheer off the western coast, all in-between college appearances.

Ireland-2During her stay in Dublin, Nancy also made an appearance on the Late Late show with Pat Kenny, the most watched show in Ireland, which led to a number of very friendly but unforeseen recognitions on the street for the rest of the week!

Overall it was a great time with some very bright and hospitable students who taught us that traditional Irish pubs do still exist, sing-alongs are not uncommon, the Claddagh ring originates in Galway, and “Irish blokes don’t dance.”

Thanks to our lovely hosts and everyone we met along the way.

Nancy Cartwright Wins the Nextel Cup – 31. October, 2006

Nextel-CupWell…not quite yet, but this Sunday afternoon at California’s Irwindale Speedway Ms. Cartwright will be one step closer than the rest of us to that illustrious crown. Following a day of training and rigorous testing, Nancy will have her NASCAR driver’s license.

This is an honor, as you may know, shared by the elite (crazy) few, who thirst for speed. And, now, the voice of our favorite, spiky-headed ten-year-old joins that prestigious (insane) fraternity.

Leading Nancy to the “promised land” will be the driver of the #27 ARCA RE/MAX Series car, Kenton Gray. These two recently joined forces when FMG Racing and Team Kelly Racing founded a marketing alliance to promote Mr. Gray’s competition car and Nancy’s animated series, The Kellys.

Kenton, who has been driving competitively since the age of ten, will begin the training by giving Nancy some driving tips, but you can be sure she’ll have a thing or two to say after she gets her license.

“Cowabunga!”

Happy House Hosts Frazier Park Seminar – 8. September, 2006

Nancy and Rose at Frazier ParkOn August 19th Happy House made its second visit to the Frazier Park, California Community Center to host a Building Better Families Seminar. Co-Founders Nancy Cartwright and Rose Goss were the key speakers and seminar leaders in this interactive two hours.

The seminar occurred just days after every mailbox in the entire Frazier Park region, 5000 to be exact, received a complementary copy of The Way to Happiness booklet.

The seminar introduces families to key precepts from that booklet; and through drills in communication and role-playing games, demonstrates how to better handle and control family situations to lead to a happier life.

Many new facets to the seminar, including a visual power point slide show and new interactive demonstrations, were added and worked quite well.

Peter Kjenaas, Executive Director of Happy House and a local resident of the Frazier Park area, wants to thank all those who contributed their time and effort to making this possible and giving Happy House the opportunity to hone and deliver the revised seminar.
