Nancy with Fernando nominators Richard Leyden and Wayne AdelsteinNancy Cartwright was honored to attend the finalist selection luncheon for the 2011 Fernando Awards held at the Hilton Hotel in Woodland Hills on Friday, June 17th.  First awarded in 1959, The Fernando Award is the highest honor for volunteerism in the San Fernando Valley and is supported by the Valley Chambers of Commerce as well as civic and philanthropic organizations.

Nancy was proud to be selected as a finalist from a distinguished group of  nominees who have dedicated themselves to volunteerism. “I was totally surprised. I am deeply touched by it,” said Nancy.  “This is an extraordinary group of individuals and they are all setting the kind of example that is so needed in our society.”

The finalists for 2011 are Greg Baker, Nancy Cartwright, Lois Curran-Klein, Joel Simon and Gary Thomas and the recipient of the Fernando Award will be chosen at the 53rd annual award ceremony at the Woodland Hills Marriot on September 17th.
